In the olive grove, called the Garden of Gethsemane, Yeshua (Jesus) went through the olive press. At that time there were two stages to the pressing of olives. First, the olives were crushed and pressed producing clean oil that was used for food, for fragrance, or for anointing. Then the olives were in turn pounded to a pulp, which produced a cruder oil used for lighting lamps.

“Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually” (Lev. 24:2 KJV).

We, too, must go through the olive press—most of us more than once because unlike Yeshua we resist and fight, instead of surrendering and allowing ourselves to be totally crushed. The books that emerge from our olive press experiences become the fragrance of the Messiah to others, and the oil God can use to shine forth the Light of Yeshua (Jesus).

As a company serving Adonai,  Olive Press, both a Messianic Publisher and a Christian Publisher plans to continue to make donations to the Messianic movement, including MJAA; to people serving in Israel (including the Chinese and Koreans praying there); and to those furthering God’s Kingdom around the world—people we have had the awesome privilege to meet on various mission trips.   We hope that someday Olive Press will have a presence in Jerusalem. Currently, we have given to a missionary family there and to Jerusalem Institute of Justice. We also donated to the Jesus Film discipleship/media section headed by Eric Foster, to Touch of Christ which ministers in the Middle East, and since the earthquake, we have sent funds to Haiti Family Ministry in Carrefour, Haiti.  (Our director even went to Haiti to serve short term.) (Our director’s daughter, a nurse practitioner,  just returned from serving long term in Haiti giving medical care to the earthquake victims.)
